If you are unfamiliar with the Wolfhunt Games, then you should know that playing the game on the Forums is a sort of a Townie Tradition. What better way to celebrate the "rebirth" of the old townie spirit by playing a bit of Wolfhunt? And for the first time Omen will be in the game, not the operator. Will he be any good playing his child? (Gah)
HOW TO PLAY
Wolfhunt is a very simple game and it is very similar to the game Mafia.
There are two time periods. Night and Day.
During the Nighttime, the Wolves, the Guardian Angel, and Seer make their respective moves. The rest of the Villagers are sleeping and do not do anything until day comes.
During the Daytime, someone is (usually) found dead, and the villagers, now awake, try to figure out who amongst them are the wolves. They cast their votes upon who they think the wolf is, and when the votes are tallied, they lynch the person voted for. Be careful though, you might accidentally lynch one of your allies!
-Villager-
The role of a Villager is to vote for one person to lynch during the day, and... get eaten during the night! Peasants are also allowed (and encouraged) to form alliances with other peasants. More on this later
-Werewolf-
There are 3 wolves in this game. The wolves are normal peasants during the day, but during the night they must confer via PM/IRC and choose a victim. The next day, that person is found dead... A good Werewolf will try to blend in.
-Seer-
The Seer, at night, may "see" a person of his choice, and the next morning, the gods (me) will tell him the role of that person. Telling everybody you're the Seer isn't a wise idea; the wolves will want you dead!
-Guardian Angel-
The Guardian Angel, each night, chooses one person and blesses his house for the night, making him invulnerable to Werewolves. It would be wise to keep your identity a secret. The Angel cannot protect his own house. A good idea would be to protect the Seer, if his identity is revealed, that is.
-Werewolf Hunter-
The Werewolf Hunter is a true hero. He knows how to fight these furry guys. So if the wolves choose to kill the Hunter one night, the hunter will kill one of the 3 wolves before dying (chosen randomly). Be cautious, Werewolves, for you now have an enemy. If the Hunter survives an attack, though, he will not kill a wolf.
COUPLE OF TIDBITS TO REMEMBER.
1. If you are dead, you are allowed your final words. You can write whatever you want- but only once! You may cast fingers, you may defend someone, you can earn brownie points and roleplay by saying "oh woe is me I'm dying!" or whatever. If you are dead, you can learn who the wolf is and isn't, however, I ask that you do not tell anyone this information. If you spoil the game, it is no fun.
2. If it ends with equal players, the wolves will rush you all in one night. Hope to god that it's one wolf and the hunter left if this does happen.
3. Wolves, if I lose patience with you, and enough time passes without a consensus on who to kill, I will make it so that you do not kill anyone and no one is killed. honestly, The villagers want to lynch! They have nothing else to do. The same applies to the Seer and guardian Angels.
I've been getting complaints from Peasants that their role is boring. It's only boring if you make it boring! Peasants can form alliances so your vote actually DOES matter. A good example of a great peasant is Nuno, who formed an alliance with other villagers (including a Werewolf and the Guardian Angel). Also, as Inq stated, a boring villager is an obvious wolf!
