Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury

Has anyone seen Dark Fury? I saw that it was made by one of the n00bs who worked on the Animatrix. Personally I found that just as perturbing as the second two movies (well, except the very first clip on Animatrix, that was made by the d00ds who did Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which we all know was 1337 ... well, I thought so!) so I'm just kind of curious if it's any good. Personally, I love Pitch Black, and the newest Chronicles of Riddick movie was fscking awesome, even toned down at PG-13 it was still great.

And okay, if you haven't seen the anime, have you at least seen the movie?

I haven't seen the anime thing, but I kinda want to. And yes, the movie was friggin awesome to the extreme. I also heard that they're making a sequel, cause it was originally gonna be called "The Riddick Trilogy", but I dunno.

FF:TSW was the suck. Computer animation was amazing, but that's about all it had going for it.

As for Dark Fury... Maybe I can find it on DC++ heh, heh.

The Chronicles of Riddick was the gayest thing I've seen, I can't believe I wasted like 2 hours of my life on that thing...it was either that or The Stepford Wives..... :whatever:

I saw Pitch Black and it was awesome despite the fact that I hate Vin Deisel sooo much. I never seen Chronicles of Riddick because it looks uber gay.

But Pitch Black Ruled.

Pitch Black AND Chronicles of Riddick rock.
The game, Escape from Butcher Bay, is the BEST LOOKING GAME EVAR and is also very, very fun.

All I know is, I beat the game, which owned my soul. Then I bought Pitch Black, watched it, loved it, then saw the movie right RIGHT after, and loved it also. Went with two friends, who also loved it.

Never seen Pitch Black, but saw Chronicles of Riddick. It was okay I guess, but the fight scenes weren't that good because of how shaky/dark most of them were. The plot was pretty cliche too...

Um, it has a boring, mindless plot with terrible pacing, cliched, underveveloped characters, generally cliched and stupid universe, lame writing, lame acting, unrealism (no suspension of disbelief could not be done for me) and it's just not entertaining. It's all been done before and done BETTER.

Pitch Black, CoR, and teh game are the shizzit. Butcher Bay was one of the best single player experiences of my life. The feeling of sneaking up behind a guy, sliting his throat with a scalpel, and seeing the blood stain the wall and floor was orgasmic. :orly: now time for a cigarette.....

Erm..yes.

It's 'bout time too, I'm expecting Skies Of Arcadia too eventually come to PS2 or XBox (fat chance) so I can play it. I'm not going to buy the Dreamcast version when I hear the GC has all these new features and a new character as well...it seems like every game I think its just for the GC, winds up being shipped to some other console..or is just me?

I hear you have to deal with seeing Dante run around in a speedo when he's not powered up though.

Oh, erm, from what I've heard, the game is a lot better than the movie. The game's being hailed as like the best for the XBox or something like that. Who knows though I guess. The Halo purists will have something to say about that I bet. Ugh. I should see that movie, but I doubt there'll be a sequel. Heh, did you hear about how it fared at the box office? It hit the 50 million mark alright, too bad it just did that a few weeks back, but it cost like 125 million to make.

Pitch Black was awesome as well, yes. The new movie was very well done, especially when you consider they were going PG-13 instead of R... Riddick was still as badass as ever, he just cussed less. Good stuff.

/me still needs to see the anime...

The next consoles are coming out in fall 2005 right? I say see if the x-box 2(or wahtever its going to be called) is backwards compatible, and if it is, then wait for that.

2nd Quarter 2006 at the latest, actually. Sony has already said that they're planning on unveiling the PS3 next Spring which means it could hit US shelves late that year. I wouldn't expect Microsoft and Nintendo to lag too far behind.

OK, since I seem to be the only person on Earth who saw Dark Fury, I'll give a brief synopsis. ((Ironically, i havent seen ANY of the Riddick fiilms or played Buthcer Bay))

It comes right after Pitch Black and before Chronicles. Riddick and the people from PB are captured by this bounty hunter woman who sees violence as a form of art and takes the highest bounties and sorta statueizes them in all their murderous glory. Of course, once she gets her hand on Riddick, she nearly creams her panties. Along with her is her totally badass liutenant who bears a striking resembelance to an adult Dib from invader Zim. Anyhow, to make things short it also introduces Toombs, who I am to understand is a major player in Chronicles, and an overall badass. He has arguably one of the best lines in the movie (When he's reading Riddick's profile and sees the bounty amount he goes "Oh baby, come to papa you bald, beautiful, bastard"). To sum things up Riddick breaks a lot of shit and really takes a dump on miss bounty huntress and her lt's birthday cakes, escapes in a ship with the pitch Black crew, and leaves Toombs wanting to take Riddick down. It leaves it open for more episodes, but who knows.
Animation is good, they seem to switch art styles near the end of the thing, though. Length is a dissapointment, around 30-40 minutes, i think, which leaves to wonder if there'll be more. Good action, Riddick really cleans house and the animation captures it well.

Yeah, thats all I feel like typing for now, enjoy.
