:tard: RPG Town Comics - by thegrandpenguin :tard:

First off, I'd like to thank all the fellow townies for all there support concerning this comic, it's something I really wanted to get done and stick with, not only to improve my style, but to give back to the Town....and to make some people laugh.

Note: I'll be trying to update this thread with new comics at least 1-2 times a week. I have alot of ideas so, hell, I might even make a new one tomarrow.

The first one is a bit messy. I cleaned it up in photoshop a bit, and my skills are a bit low when it comes to photoshop, but it will slowly improve. This first comic, surprisingly, is a bit rushed. I was talking to Jacket earlier today and I decided to totally change the entire comic, because the originally this one was going to be some lame ass rehash on the last comic I did, using the same joke pretty much. I've had this comic in my head for a long time, so it only took about 6 hours or so to do. Hopefully as I go along I'll get good enough to color and ink these on the computer, but for now, this is all your going to get. :tard:

note - Obviously this is a resubmission, but feel free to reply whenever you want, old RPG Town Thread might close down.

For the second comic, I wanted to do something about the roleplaying forum. I've never been a big roleplayer, and I've usually stayed away from them at all costs. The people in this one..well...I have no idea. It really didn't require any specific characters, but since breakdancing ninja begged for it, I'll go ahead and give him the role of the dragon.

Text, again, is a bit messy. PS was being a bitch to me yet again, so I had some trouble. I DID digitally ink over it in photoshop, so it should look slightly better than the last one. It feels a bit rushed, I definately could have made it a bit longer, but oh well.

RPG Town Comic - No. 2 - Roleplaying blues.

note - Like the last thread, this is the repost of the 2nd comic, but again, feel free to reply.

Ok, since Paul M was gracious enough to give me my own sub-forum for RPG Town comics, I decided to make a thread for me to post my updates, info on next comic, etc. Since they're giving me all this space I suppose I better get my rear in gear and start to get serious about these comics. :tard:

So anyways, I'll try to make the first update a big one. First off, there is no new comic as of now. Basically all I have is an idea and some sketches for the next comic. I was away all weekend, and one of the nights I couldn't even get on because the phone line was shot. To add on top of all that, I have band practice from 7:30 - 4:30 from Monday till Friday, so I'll be a bit busy. I'll try to have the next comic by Tuesday, but I might be able to get it done tomarrow evening, that is...if I work on it tonight.

Besides the comic, one of the main things I'm trying to get done is the Character Sheet 1.0 . Basically it's going to be a big honkin sheet of a bunch of characters from the town. This one is basically only going to have most of the staff and most of the people who sent me their pictures already, but as I go along I'll get more done. One of the other big things I've been trying to learn is how to color these things, because we all know that the comics would look ALOT better with a background and some color (and shading :tard: ). If anyone hasn't sent me a picture of him or herself and wants to be in the comic, pm me with a link to it and I'll see what I can do.

I'll also be posting art from the comic and such on this board, so keep an eye out. Expect more updates on this SAME thread later along in the week. And remember, this is only for the people who care, tards need not reply :tard:

I don't think you should add color to 'em.. maybe alittle shading.. maybe.. 'cause if you did then it would lose the nice vintage comic feel to it.. y'know..

Not true. Besides, your style of drawing should just stay as Black and White. Some shading would be nice.

Like I already suggested...

1) Get as many peoples real pictures as you can and base their characters off that... so that it's more accurate, like me having glasses.
2) Do one of me and Jakey as shirtninjas and I will Heart you forever.

I'll see what I can do.

Band camp is such a bitch, guys. If I'm going to do any drawing tonight, it's going to be LATER tonight, but I am seriously beat. I'll seriously TRY to get something up by tomarrow night, but I might die of exhaustion in the process X_X We marched outside in the blistering heat, on a parkinglot I might add, from 7:30 to 12. Then we practiced with instruments from 1:30 - 4:30.

I'm not sure how I"ll survive. :tard:

Anyways, what I'm mostly working on as of now is the character sheet and other non - comic pics such as avatars and such, so everybody can be happy. I'm also experimenting with some style changes so these comics can appear to be a bit more consistent and such. Thanks again for the support guys, I'll try to push these out whenever I can X_x.

Oh, and expect ninja's soon Laugh

You have no idea. It's basically boot camp. We had to march in TIGHT block formation for one hour, so tight that if you messed up while marching backwards you'll fall over and have at least 3 people walk over you. Then we marched in wide block formation with our arms stretched out, for 30 MINUTES. This freshman almost picked a fight with me cause he started to march the wrong way and ran his face into my fist.

The drumline is pretty bad, for initiation one time they led each newbie into a dark room blindfolded, and told them to stick there finger into this hole. While it was actually a cantelope with a hole drilled into it with peanut butter in it (I'm not kidding), you can probably guess how akward the newbies felt when they participated in it.

One of my friend's just came over to my house not to long ago, and she asked me if she should stay in colorguard or not. She's having her doubts after hearing the colorguards nickname, the whore-core. Obviously colorguard isn't that easy either >_>

Yes, our freshman don't even have names, we call em freshmeat. They either go by numbers or nicknames on they're freshman year. We have 4 new trumpets this year, 3 of them reply to no. 11, 12, and 13, the other one gets the nickname Smalls, only because he's the younger brother of one of our senior trumpets.

Ah, exactly. It's comforting to know that someone around here knows a bit more about this.

As for the model, definately a Wacom. Not sure what size though, I might just end up getting one of the 80 or 120 dollar ones, nothing fancy, just something I can do clean lineart and comics on.

Ah, and by the way, didn't get to grab the tablet last night, and I was at a party all night tonight, so I'll probably get it tomarrow sometime. THEN I'll do the comic. Everybody keeps asking me when the next one is going to be out, but it's been a really hectic week guys X_X It's a good thing band camp just ended.
