My midi files are screwing up.

Yeah, so some of my midi files aren't playing right in my RMXP game. I imported a midi version of Mummer's Dance by Loreena McKennitt to use in my game, and it plays fine in windows media player, but when i play it through RMXP, it has a strange echo and some of the 'instruments' aren't even there. There aren't even any drum beats. There's pretty much only the lead melody with an echo (which isn't there when i play it through media player). So if anyone has any suggestions.....please help me! Or maybe if someone could direct me to another version of that song I could see if a different file may work right? Also, if anyone knows where I could just get the instrumental of that song, like an mp3 or something, that would work too. Actually that'd work even better. Anyway....

RPG Makers have always been a bit iffy with midi files. I believe it uses a codec that isn't too good, although I am not certain, but that basically means you are stuck with it as it is.

hrmm try importing differently.. sometimes The midis are too long for the program.. (I've only tried that with midis that were like 20+ minutes)

Descartes is sitting in a bar, having a drink. The bartender asks him if he would like another. "I think not," he says, and vanishes in a puff of logic.

Well I couldn't figure out how to get the midi to play properly, so I went ahead and paid $0.20 to download the freaking song, and while I was at it I spent another $1 downloading a few other songs to use in my game. If I can, I'm going to do away with midi files altogether and use "real" music, but that's if I can find songs to replace the midi's I'm currently using. Loreena, Enya and Clannad have some good ones that fit nicely (Atlantic Realm has a really cool "feel" to it) Anyone have any other suggestions for artists like these that I could use?
