Hi, im trying to build a game set in ancient chinese mythology and I'd like to have you guys input on what you'd like to see in it?
A new game on ancient chinese mythos
hrmm well I would say do your research, and decide which area would be best suited.
Fu Xi and Nu Wa are a good place to start.
Read Fruits Basket!!! Chinese Mythology (I know I'm lame)
I don't know much about Chinese myth, but I know that much of Celtic and Japanese myth are very local, say, a Spirit of that specific waterfall over there. Sure there were key elements, but a lot of Celtic and Japanese myth were very local. I think it may be similar with Chinese, yes there are key Gods and such, but I'm sure there are local myths that you could toy with.
Say, figure out generally what Chinese mythology would be like (as in, do a ton of research @.@) and make up a story with some local mythology, taking into account the style of mythology and keeping the key figures present.
And keep in mind I don't know anything about Chinese mythology but hey, *shrug* it's a suggestion.
I know nothing about Chinese mythology, but I'd like to learn more about it through this game of your's .
I have my general idea figured out, Its based on a chinese story but what i would like for you all to tell me is, what kind of side quests or things youd like to see...like say, I know this story of a guy that was born from a rock called Monkey ( later to be call Son Goku) this will be figured in my story but be referred to as Sun Wukong ( the true identity of goku)...tell me of ideas..like crazy spirits who haunts a village or things you might know or want to see in there...if you have any..thatd be cool....
I'm afraid I know precious little about chinese mythology. I dare say the subject is tremendously expansive. What area of chinese mythology are you focusing on? There may be others who know more than I, but your "game set in ancient chinese mythology" doesn't really shed any like on what you're planning to do.
It is often best to give a little information about your game, what ideas you already have, so that people can give you advice based on what you have formulated already.
