Currently, I'm enthralled with DragonForce and their new album Inhuman Rampage, as well as their previous albums, but mainly Inhuman Rampage. I'm also an avid listener of Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeth, Linkin Park, and others.

Hurrah for the Scorpions! I saw them live and they were great fun, although obviously outdone by the headling act, the mighty Judas Priest (my favourite Heavy Metal band)! *runs*

I always struggle to answer this question, because really there isn't any single "kind" of music that I like. If I need a quick answer I say Indie, but even that can encompass several musical styles.

My all time favourite band is The Smiths, and I'm also infatuated with Morrissey's solo output.I love indie pop certainly. I love some pop! I love heavier metal, and I adore bands like Opeth, Slayer and Carcass, as well as selected thrash metal bands. Pantera, when they do get it right, are the best of the thrash bunch, I'd say. The problem is often they're incredibly off the mark.

I'm quite open to a bit of hip hop, and I love music that interfuses elements of electronic/dance music (I know they're not the same so shush) into them. I love more acoustic music, with elements of folk and with quirkier sorts of instruments. Basically, I'm open to any sort of sound. Providing it's music, the journey there should be able to encompass whatever you like!

www.last.fm/user/MetalPingu is my last.fm profile, which is an attempt to create a synopsis as it were of my taste in music. It would be cool to see a few other townies on this I think if they're not already.

EDIT: Myo, just came across these on the Morrissey-Solo forums, thought you might like them:

Yep =D. I probably wouldn't have seen them as the headlining act *shock* but as the support group to Judas Priest they were excellent, very lively and a good choice of songs. Judas Priest were better Wink but I rememember Scorpions forums saying at the time that Judas Priest should have been supporting Scorpions!! Hopefully you'll see them sometime Smile.

I can't remember exactly, but it was a mixture of classic stuff (minus Wind Of Change): Bad Boys Running Wild and a few more off that album, The Zoo, etc, and tracks off their 2004(?) album. Of course, they ended with Rock You Like A Hurricane Wink. Well-balanced setlist, top notch performance I thought!

I listen to a lot of modern pop (so basically anything new), 80s pop & rock, and classic rock.

Last.fm has always ticked me off. It doesn't count my stuff right at all (and for good reason because usually the tags aren't filled out consistently for the songs I have).

Yar, a link to my Last.fm, cause I am lazy.

...

Ugh, fine, I'll type some ofthem out. Geeze, demands much...*mutters*

Anywho, I shlike my metal. Oh so very much so. More so metal like Blind Guardian, Dragonforce, Kamelot, etc., as opposed to Children of Bodom, Slayer, etc.

And I'll isten to anything, generally, as long as I like it. Yeah, that sounds weird even after typing it out. Ah well. Yep, that be all.

They didn't play 'Wind Of Change'; I imagine they didn't on purpose Sticking Out Tongue. They could not have got away without playing 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' though Laugh.

I've not had too much trouble with it, but I am obsessive with making sure my tags are completely perfect. One good thing I've noticed recently is that if your tags are wrong (for example, you submit a song by a band called "Maximo Park", when everyone knows it's "Maxïmo Park") the artist page will tell you to change your tags. I also use a smashing little program called Yamipod for my offline submissions.

I'm 18 and I listen to bands from the 80s, 70s, late 60s, mid 60s, early 60s, 50s and soforth...age is not an excuse! The way I see it is that whatever you're listening to now was inspired by some band[s] in the past, and their by their peers...so it's not as if quality music has only been around for about 2 years =P.

In terms of the Scorpions, I rather like what I hear of their new album, but I'm befuddled about the fact that Billy Corgan is guesting on one of the tracks! Not that I'm outraged (in fact for fear of being lynched I'd say I prefer the Smashing Pumpkins to the Scorpions =X) but it seems odd that pretty much polar opposite rock bands coming together.

Dragonforce smell Laugh Only joking, I'm just not a big fan myself. I went with a couple of my friends to see Opeth live in concert...one of them then saw Dragonforce a few weeks later. When he said that he thought Dragonforce was the better concert I was on the verge of tears!! (Opeth are one of my alltime favourite bands)

This has always been a hard one for me to answer.

I listen to a lot of different music.

Old Metal, Nu Metal, Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Y'know...Metal. =]
Classic Rock, Southern Rock, 80's Rock, Progressive Rock Y'know...Rock! =]
I delve into more than just guitar driven music, though. I listen to Classical music, and Blues too.
I'm a guitarist of 15 years. Since my 6th birthday.
I don't stray away from certain music just because of the genre. I even have a few hip-hop and rap songs. Even country.
More styles. Fingerstyle guitar (Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, and the list goes on.)
Folk music, Alternative.
I have atleast 300 songs from OCRemix.org. I listen to Video Game music, NSF's, SPC's, etc. etc. I listen to remixes too (Duh, OCRemix? lol)

So...My musical tastes reach far and wide. The music I like is about as diverse as culture in the world, I guess you could say.

P.S. Scorpions Rock.

My taste in music has changed and broadened over the past year. I'd say 75% of my listening is now probably electronic based, rather than it being 100% guitar based last summer. atm my favourite artists are:

Fatboy Slim
Mr Scruff
DJ Yoda
DJ Jean
Aphex Twin
Calvin Harris
Cypress Hill
Pendulum
DJ Hixxy
Chemical Brothers
Fedde la Grande

and on the rock/metal side:

Killswitch Engage
Hendrix
Pink Floyd
Slayer

in july i'll be seeing metallica and then I think I can die happy... I'll have seen priest, maiden, slayer + metallica. Those 4 bands pretty much sum up 80s metal for me (and pantera but that's not going to happen is it Blush )

Rock. Real rock. No emo-its-not-a-lifestyle-just-a-type-of-music-get-off-my-back stuff. Lifestyle or no, the music is bland and utter pain to my ears.

Aerosmith baby! Eagles hold dibs on my favorite song, Hotel California. I'm a guitarist myself, and I'm extremely inspired from these type of bands.

I'm also a metalhead... not scary, eat-my-bandmate death metal or scream-through-the-whole-song metal... heavy stuff, Pantera, Slayer, Judas Priest, Metallica, etc... I can take alot of 80's "hair metal" until I've heard about a thousand tapping solos at 300 bpm. Van Halen, however, is great almost all the way around.

Duality, by Slipknot, is a good song. I also enjoy alot of stuff perhaps classified as Nu-metal, such as Creed, Default, etc... you know, the good ol' fun stuff. Haha.

Nineties grunge bands are great--sometimes. Chris Cornell is a god. No joke.

And I will continue discussing this, I'm sure, once some punk-I-like-to-skate-even-though-I-suck enthusiast, or some alternative no-one-understands-me junkie comes by and tells me something totally outrageously ignorant about how "their type of music" is better. I love music, hehe.

Currently listening to: Rock 'n Roll Ain't Noise Pollution - AC/DC
Next up on Nick's list of shuffled iTunes: 5 Minutes Alone (Live) - Pantera

etc.

I can't stand metal for the most part.

Favourite band is Joy Division, current favourite is Justice. I like Radiohead's new album quite a bit. The Libertines got me into music as they have a lot of people my age. Muse are the best band I've ever seen live. etc.

I'll listen to just about anything, minus rap. My all time favorites include "Bat Country", "Bleed It Out", "Carry on Wayward Son", and "Moonlight Sonata". I know, wierd transition, but I grew up with my grandparents, and that's the kind of music I was exposed to on a daily basis. "Moonlight Sonata", I mean. Beethoven rocks! Whooooooooooo!

There are four truths in life that all must come to terms with:
1. I will die and all that I am will cease to be.
2. I am born alone and will die alone. I can never truly know another.
3. The suffering in my life is my own creation. I create my reality through my choices.
4. ALL meaning is arbitrary and relative. Life is ultimately meaningless.

I'm a fan of the canadian indie scene I guess, artist like metric, stars, feist and broken social scene. I'm a fan of bands Like Bright Eyes and The Bloc Party and artists like Rufus Wainwright, Damien Rice, and Paolo Nutini. If your familiar with those artists then you can kind of gather my taste in music, but really I'm open to many things yet slightly closed to country and common modern rap (Lil john, Chingy, stuff like that grinds my gears especially that soulja boy song...)

I am an enigma
