What are you playing now?

Hey everyone, been a while. Is there a thread like this already?

Anyway, if not, what's everyone playing currently?

Other than some online gaming, I just started playing Rudra no Hihou since I've yet to play through that game. I just played through Shadowrun again last week (the PSP is good for something).

Playing Super Mario Advance 4, or rather, SMB3, I wish they didn't add the voices though, this sort of kills the mood and gets annoying after a while, there's also that when you're raccoon or flower Mario and get hit, you still remain Super Mario instead of going back to small Mario, this makes things easy, but it's still pretty damn fun.

Still playing Fallout 2 from time to time, also sometime playing Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.

I've mostly been playing City of Heroes recently.

So long...maybe forever
I must carry on
Why did God take away
That one thing I wanted
Maybe God is the melody
We all serenade
You would not feel sadness
If you never tasted joy
That's the curse of humans

Last duengeon of Suikoden V. Gonna get the normal ending because I already screwed up the missable characters, but that's alright. I can prolly find a video of the good ending somewhere online, cause I definately won't want to play through it again. I loved the story, but the pacing and the way too easy battles (auto-battle can get you through most of the bosses, even) almost completely kills it.

I think Suikoden III is still the best next-gen Suikoden, even though many fans think it's the bastard child of the series =p

I broke my Last.fm profile ;_;

Oh the normal ending is the best.. and once you get to the final boss you'll be like "...well that ended fast... I didn't even get a turn" haha the final guy is pretty unforgiving. I would suggest beefing up you 6 main guys, make sure you can case the Dawn and Twilight lvl 4 unite spell when the majority of your party is dead. and make sure you have a power house mage other then the prince that has the Rune that replensishes mp each time that character attacks. Your physical attackers will probably get wiped out in the 1st couple of turns so if you're been relaying on them up til now you may find that you can't or will have extreme difficulty beating the final guy.
but yeah the Normal ending is awesome. I think you'll be glad to what happens to the main characters heh.

In Star Ocean: Till The End of Time, I only got to the part where the place was getting attacked or whatever while the Fayt and..Sophia....mayb?..were in that battle simulator thing, near the beginning, before I had to stop playing and do something else. I haven't gotten to play it since. But so far, I haven't found it that great.

Does it get better?

Let me think a little... hmm... it's alright for a short time and then... hum... it gets pretty boring and bad.

Fnished up Suikoden V. Certainly the best story in a while, but everything else was lacking.

Picked up a copy of Tales of Legendia (for free at that, gogogo trade-ins!) Nothing particulary outstanding, but the Tales series isn't known for setting benchmarks. It's fun as hell, and I love it.

I've been playing through Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth on my PC on and off. I'm thinking about playing through Doom 3 again, then actually play through the expansion pack after I beat it. I havent touched it since I bought it. And, as always, I've been playing City of Heroes/Villains.

That wish will not come true. Even if you make it on your birthday.

Been replaying all Infinity Engine games (BG series, IWD series) except Planescape: Torments, I don't have that one unfortunatly.

P.S. level 13 Kensai dualled to mage is the best thing since sliced bread in BG2, an amazing tank and a great spellcaster too. Just put a few buffs into spell sequencers, and improved haste into a contingency and then hack away.

Did I tell anyone that I've been playing "Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne"? I bought it quite a while ago but never really played it. I'm really enjoying it a lot now, though.

Also cool @ ESOP re: Indigo Prophecy. I quite liked that game.

How many times have I beaten Suikoden 5? I don't recall.

No, unfortunetly my ps2 is a piece of crap and only works half the time so modding it to play imports is out of the question. All though I have thought about the english version of the first which was just released state side. All though the voices drive me insane its really about the gameplay. I figure I will wait for the second or third to be released in the US anyway, everyone said they greatly improve over each other.

Well, kinda. They changed the Ougi system in NH2 (that super-cinematic-cutscene-jutsu thing) and made it irritating as hell, but NH3 fixes all that AND features every single character you could dream of up to the time jump (even Konohamaru and all the Hokages).

I'd advise you not to buy the English version or you just might end up hating Naruto forever. But if you do, mute it.

Oh trust me I will, I have seen Clash of Ninja, the voices make me want to shoot myself very irritating, but then I ran home into the welcome arms of Ninja Taisen 4 and all was well. America has trashed Naruto, the show and the character they make Naruto about to be much more of an idot than he is.

I was playing Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness...until I discovered Tomb Raider: Legend on the cheap (20 quid). I'm not far in at all, but it's pretty good so far.

A sig should be here, but the oppressive tyranny that has its iron fist clenched around our liberty has denied me my god-given (I have not capitalised the word 'god' because let's be realistic: he doesn't exist!) free speech.

Kingdom Hearts 2. "Found it" at a local carboot sale. Just beaten the 3rd boss inside the final castle (the dude who goes bEserk). Very good game so far, and I need to get up a two or three (or twenty) levels before I can beat Sephiroth.

Play The Lost Vikings. Doesn't work perfectly on WinXP though, MIDI soundtrack gets messed up so I'd recommend playing it on Win98 or older (since they're DOS-based, they won't have to emulate the game's playing environment) Search for it; I found it in a place called Abandonia.

Or what Myo said. Or get the SNES ROM. Or buy it for GBA. Then play it, fall in love with it, and do the same thing again with The Lost Vikings II, except you can also get that on Playstation, but I imagine it's a bugger to find these days.

I left Dragon Quest so that I could concentrate on my exams and I haven't got back to it yet. I haven't fallen out with it yet, so I imagine I'm due for returning to it. If not, I have Shadow Of The Colossus lined up, and I'm very looking forward to playing that, Mr. Ico fan here.

Another great oldschool game to play is Warcraft II. Not bloody World of Warcraft, although it the introduction does say "Welcome to the world of Warcraft." I recommend you buy Battle.net edition, that way you don't need a good DOS emulator to make it work (and it includes the expansion too), not to mention the free access to Battle.net

There's also some other great games, let me list off the games I can play on my 1996 made laptop computer (with 32 mb RAM and a 2 mb video card, unknown processor but I think it's 233 mhz) :

The Lost Vikings
Warcraft
Warcraft II
Worms Armageddon
Civilization II
Roller Coaster Tycoon

And if you're in the mood for good SNES games, may I recommend:

Final Fantasy 4
Earthbound
Donkey Kong Country series
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy 5 (if you're using an emulator, no official english translation)
Breath of Fire (I and II)
Illusion of Gaia
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (the BEST game I've played that was made for young children)
Killer Instinct
Populous (über oldskool)
Super Metroid

Alright, I'm done...
