I already knew them they are pretty standard in all forums.

There is a help window just underneath the smilies when you are posting, 'BB Code Help', that covers most of the things you can do as regards making your posts look all fancy.

Curiously the spoiler tag is not mentioned, however.

For URLs and images you also have the buttons just above the text you write which will do it for you, which is nice. Again, nothing with the spoilers. I guess these things may not necessarily be obvious to people completely new at using messageboards, though I'm pretty sure I never really bothered with these help files. I think I learnt by gasping in awe at some crazy thing that another forumer had done and exclaiming, 'Oh my, how did they do that?'. Upon which, naturally, I worked out how. At any rate, the new boards don't use BBCode as default so it might be slightly redundant to change these things now.

Karl: I know this is slightly off-topic, but, firstly are you okay, and secondly how on earth have you managed to find time to post on here? I'm very glad you have done, though, because at least we know that you're safe.

No worries for that. If you click Input format below your post, and switch it to BBCode, you should be fine for that.

Of course, I'd recommend you do that BEFORE anything else. Using HTML and switching to BBCode after finishing your post will just lay a gobsmack of HTML coding on the post.

Time for an off-topic thing.

HOW YOU PEOPLE ENJOYING YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND?! (In the U.S...not sure if it happens in other countries. o_o')

And yeah, we're all fine, and the house is okay, but some other houses have lost walls and chimneys, at least the powers come back on! and how I'm managing to find time to post?
Christchurch (where I live) is in a state of emergency, so no school!!! Laugh
It's actually been quite pleasant to be honest
The weather's been beutiful, and we just took the battery out of the car and hooked it up to a cable, then into the radio, and huzzah! Radio!

And no, never heard of labor day weekend, s33ker, do you get an extended weekend? Or is it during the weekend?
