New Mode07 system

In a break from tradition, I'd like to alert all members to the new Mode07 system now available. This is made by MGCaladtogel and is a vast overhaul of the previous incarnations. Most exciting is the fact that he has also demoed an early 'rotation' feature, which he hopes to release in the near future. Follow the link on the right hand panel to get straight there and grab the demo and script.

You need to go into the database and set the "Terrain" of any objects that you want standing up (like trees) to either 1 or 2.

RE: The noob who just cant...

i have another question to ask... how do i work stairs... im trying to make stairs to make me reach higher ground but my character dissapears when i walk up to the stairs, or when i make my character always on top when going up stairs my character gets smaller from the inclining height of the stairs. its almost like im walking through the stairs and building or hill instead of advancing up to it.

(i do not expect a simple answer or even a proper answer from this one as it seems [to me] like an impossibility for a scripting god of any magnitude to cover)

( if this is fixable than this is a truely godly script!!! [i already think its above all but WOW! if its better than i thought ive truely underestimated the flexibility of rpgm xp's scripting accessability] )

I don't understand myself...since it isn't my script anymore, I don't really know how his works. I certainly wasn't under the impression that he actually had STAIRS...

I don't know what the problem is unless you want the stairs to actually increase in elevation when in mode7. I never had the impression that that sort of thing would work.

Yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh, what he said...

Mode 7 is for world maps, etc, not dungeons/towns... no need for "stair" support... or whatever support you seem to want. Undecided

Well um.........help me out here but it still confuses me as to what terrain does without the mode07 system. As none of the maps are preset that way either.

You can't have everything....where would you put it?

OH MY GOD! THERE'S A BEAR IN MY OATMEAL!

Terrain does absolutely nothing for the RTP, except that I think one of them causes character sprites to be semi-transparent on their lower half.
