This is why people just say "Happy Holidays..."

And then white supremacists are all like "but us are a christian nation, wtf you're waging a war on christmas!"

Well, I hope that's not bundling white supremacists and Christians as one and the same. Any real Christian knows that our religion does NOT approve of such thinking. As for saying "Happy Holidays", I only celebrate Christmas, so I say "Merry Christmas". Not to be offensive, of course, but because that's what I believe in. But, in the spirit of friendliness, "Happy Holidays", everyone! Laugh

There are four truths in life that all must come to terms with:
1. I will die and all that I am will cease to be.
2. I am born alone and will die alone. I can never truly know another.
3. The suffering in my life is my own creation. I create my reality through my choices.
4. ALL meaning is arbitrary and relative. Life is ultimately meaningless.

My uncle sent me this in an email...

To All My Liberal Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious,
socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday,
practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice,
or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions
of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the
onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of
choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply
that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western
Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability,
religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Conservative Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I thought it was very funny and accurate...

That's right. Any real Christian. Somehow the Bible's teachings manage to escape the majority of rank-and-file Protestants in America. But I have to hold myself back from preaching, since we're supposed to be merry. But man, Christmas is over, so let's be Americans for a moment and be pious for the month preceding Christmas, then forget ourselves until Easter. Let's also make a resolution for New Years to lose weight, and fail to follow through, since Us are all fat bastards anyway.

Sorry. Happy New Years. May you not have to know what it is to be truly American.

You're from Hellmouth and you know what it means to be "truly American"? I'd be interested to know what your basis for comparison is, especially from England...

Everybody seems to be an expert on "Americans" when only a handful are actually FROM there...interesting...

I don't believe there is such a place as 'Hellmouth' in England. However, wikipedia tells that me that Hellmouths can be found in Sunnydale, California. I don't actually watch the show for the record, but it seems to make a weird sort of sense.

Hope everyone had a smashing Christmas anyway, or whatever was contemporary to Christmas</political correctness gone mad>.
