Forum Structure Alteration

Since this "Official Business" forum really belongs...somewhere, I put it in and moved Feedback in here. I feel also that we need a news forum on the forums. Maybe in the future, this forum will export to the news on the site instead of CuteNews, and we can have commentary on the news. Certainly one way to make the forum more active, allowing commentary on the news.

I hope to implement some type of system with the downloads database where submitting a download starts a thread in the forum for the same reason, but that's farther down the line. By the way, if anybody wants to help me set up the downloads database, ask me and I can set you up to do so.

Good plan, I like this stuffs. The forum news thing on main page isn't hard. Just gotta find the right mod for it.

I suppose the simple way of doing it would be to carry on posting the news onsite, but also paste it into a new thread on here. I know what you mean though, it'd be nice to be able to comment on updates and changes and all that jazz.

Yep, I think it's about time the download database got sorted! Time constraints permitting I'm still willing to help on that side...volunteered a while back but nothing ever came of it. Anything to avoid actually doing any work eh? =D

Well, I'd like to mention that I am building the admin panel and it works like a charm for deleting entries. I just need to add the function to alter entries that already exist.

I posted Inq's Interiors tileset in the database, and it WAS a bit of work. I repackaged it into a zip, resized the screenshots, and created a thumbnail image. Although, it took twice as long as it should have because of a mixup with MIME types...some debugging with the actual scripts. But, that's the general idea. Eventually, I will merge the system further with the forum database and user data will be stored by member ID and displayed dynamically. I will also try to change the date field into a Date type instead of a String type, thus allowing users to display the date based on their preferences (M/D/Y or D/M/Y, or even others...but why would you need others?)

There are plenty of things to upload, but I can take care of the ones that already have info. What we REALLY need help with is writing descriptions for Inq's various works.

I have absolutely no idea at all what you've just said, but it does sound really cool! I'm really chuffed to see all this work done to the site, and can only thank you for that. Still not dissuaded from helping out (foolish but loyal =D). If you don't need so much help with the uploading, I'm more than happy to write out a big group of descriptions for the uploads. Just throw some stuff that needs doing at me and I'll have a crack at it.

Well, take a look at all the files in the http://www.rpg-palace.com/inquisitor directory and build up some descriptions, thumbnails, and screenshots for them. That's what we need. Those are mostly 2k resources. I still have to work on the admin panel before I can continue uploading all the files in the /artists/ directory (which includes the world map tileset), because if you notice there WAS an error with uploading the medieval tileset, it didn't take in the author's name. I fixed the problem, but I need to build the editing tool to fix it (because I really don't want to re-upload that thing). I also want to replace all of the thumbnails because I've decided half-way through that 160x160 px is too large, and I want them to be 120x120 instead.
