Downtime Apologies

As you may have noticed, we've been down for about a week and a half. Due to a mixup in payment, the host suspended us till we paid. I can confirm we paid within a few hours, the rest has been down to the host being extremely slow to process this.

But alls well that ends well I guess. The downtime has motivated me to update things around here.

Update: Ugh, seems something broke our RSS. If you are reading this on the forums then I've fixed it.

Turns out PayPal take 9 days to clear eChecks. Why? So they can keep the interest. Bastards.

Gah. I once made that mistake- make sure you set your payment method to direct payment in the future as that's instant; I once ended up with a christmas present being delivered after New Year because of echecks

I was wondering what took so long. You told me that it would take three days to clear!

I was relying on British banking conventions, not greedy, capitalist, unregulated American rip-off banks! Besides, PayPal said it would be 7-9 days, day 10 and the payment still hadn't cleared.

The town seems to almost yearly have some sort of issue, whether hack, downtime or site issue that results in downtime. In all its years, it has never stopped it.

Let's hope it stays that way, huh?

There are four truths in life that all must come to terms with:
1. I will die and all that I am will cease to be.
2. I am born alone and will die alone. I can never truly know another.
3. The suffering in my life is my own creation. I create my reality through my choices.
4. ALL meaning is arbitrary and relative. Life is ultimately meaningless.

It could be worse. We had only a week of downtime, and nothing was damaged during that time. I've been places where the forums were down for months and the entire site had to be completely rebuilt, leaving nothing the same. And half the members left, and it was never the same again.

Ah, good times Sticking Out Tongue

.........The only date needed to be remember is 13/1. Its that one moment between 12/30 at 11:59 and 1/1 at 12:00 A full months nobody remembers, and is not on any calendar.

You can't have everything....where would you put it?
