The only problem with it is that the green background shows......

well if 2k3 were like XP on this I believe this is what you have to do:
when you upload a player sprite to the characters folder a screen shuld pop up showing your
sprite.
below there should be 2 colors, one of them (the left one I believe) is the color that you DON'T want to
show off. (in your image's case the green background) the other color is if you want to make a color
transparent or ghostlike.
and that's about it.
The project still lives!
