I want to have a name input processing for my game and I want to be able to say the guy's name in the text as in have people talk to him, but I don't know how to do that when it's the people's choice to name them. i figure it'll be some kind of command like <input/char/name/char#3> or something along the lines of that, but I really don't know. can someone please help me?
RMXP name input processing
well simply make an event "name imput prossesing" and if you want the name to appear type \N or the number of any other actor \N...ect instead of the name of the actor.
megaman is right, but to clarify a little, type \n[x] in the message dialogue box, where x is the index of the actor in the database.
You can also use \v[x] to display the value stored in variable x, and \c[x] to change the text color to x, where x is a color in the window skin.
I couldn't find a "Name Input Processing" button in the event commands. Is there a script for that? I just recently started to work with scripts and don't quite understand it yet, so if you could post a finished script or an Idiot's Guide that would be wonderful. Please and thank you.
RMXP/RMVX = third tab, left-hand column, second down from the top.
RGP2k3 = second tab, left-hand column, third down from the top and it's called "Enter Hero Name".
Yeah, shows how much I pay attention. Thanks egg_dragon.
No prob, bob!
