Telekinesis Map/puzzle/dungeon designs!

Heya guys!

I'm in need of some puzzle/dungeon map designs, that can only be solved by using telekinesis...
One of the main concepts i'm using so far, is lasers. The player can't go through them, objects can't go through them, but you can use telekinesis on objects on the other side of a laser

I'll post up a couple of my own so you guys can see...
Note mine aren't very hard, which is why I need you to make some really complicated ones! Laugh

So, yeah. Go crazy, you can set them any where you want, ice cave, underwater, the moon, go for it. And they don't have to be done on rpg maker either, get out paint, or hand drawn, if you feel like it.

Thanks! Laugh

I wonder how you solve it... Sticking Out Tongue

This one's a little more complicated. The switches on the bottom right turn off that coloured laser. But you can only flick one switch at a time. So you gotta put the cube on the blue switch first. Them move the player left. Then hit the red switch. Move up. Hit the yellow switch. Move right and escape Laugh

I haven't made the upwards and downwards laser graphics yet... that's why they were done in paint Sticking Out Tongue

Sry, I'm a lil lazy to look in other threads what exactly your telekinesis does. but from your puzzle i guess you can take control of the item from distance (the usual telekinesis Grin) and move it in ANY direction... not just push/pull in line of the character - is that correct? Because if it can only be push+pulled there's more ways to create "difficult" puzzles. which is why I'm asking before even trying to draw :Eyesroll:

Wow maps and lasers look awesome Sticking Out Tongue

btw. what's squall doing in your game? Gasp

Grand List of Console Role Playing Cliches Had such a hilarious time following Yamitami's link... it needs to be spread! Somehow I seem to have played every single one of those games refered to Grin

hmm puzzles eh?

my suggestion to you is..... FIRE!!!

think about it, from simply lighting torches to burning ropes that drop weights

and the best part is, it is very versatile and fits almost anywhere

The project still lives!

Off the top of my head, I can think of a factory-type telekinesis puzzle that would be pretty interesting. It would be based around the whole move-the-blocks concept, but there are conveyor belts all over the place - some constantly moving, some not. All of this is behind a "safety guard", preventing the player from physically accessing the puzzle - aside from a few switches and levers on the player's side that open and close gates. The conveyor belts add a timing element to the puzzle and make it that much more challenging; and if you really want to be evil, have some of the belts lead into holes that you can lose the blocks in, forcing the player to start over.

Of course, you could also have some holes that could be "filled" with a block; this would open a new path to another section of the puzzle. Or switches that change the belt's directions when a block stops on them. There are all sorts of ways you could turn this into a complex multi-step puzzle.

Okay, so I've got fire (lots and lots of fire) and conveyor belts so far...
Conveyor belts would make stuff complicated, but could really add to gameplay now that I think bout it...
Oh, and Ravso by fire, you mean like... actually... I'm still trying to think about how to put that in properly, im queer because most things can be done by putting a block on a switch.
@Nullmech: It would be best not to have the player stuck in factory-like room, only using switches and what not on his side, because after the kinda tutorial rooms (The grey rooms the snapshots are coming from), he learns more abilities and gets more into the action side of things (like killing stuff Laugh ). But yeah, later on, I'm sure I'll have something like that.

@Verizon: Yeah, the objects can be moved in anywhich direction.
@Verizon & Ssbbfan: Squall is in my game because a) I love ff8 b) I don't really have any other proper sprites to put in instead Sticking Out Tongue

Oh, and I also need some bosses that can be defeated by using telekinesis (Yay) but I'm not bothered about that at the moment, I just need some map/puzzle designs! Laugh

Because portal is epic ( ) and I need something like that to put on switches. Smile

EDIT: I forgot to mention, squall isn't going to be the sprite in the actual game, I'm just using him for the moment because I don't have anything else to use at the moment. Sticking Out Tongue

*Double posts cause that's the way uh-huh-uh-huh I like it*

I made the downward lasers in case anybody was interested,

Spoiler: Highlight to view

Oh yeah, the black switch opens the door

But guys, I could really use some map designs, anywho, here's one I came up with yesterday, then put into paint

Spoiler: Highlight to view

I might need to explain this one...
Okay, the grey squares are cubes, the coloured squares are switches, the coloured lines are lasers, turned off by the appropriate switch or lever. The T shaped thingies at the bottom are levers, that when hit once, keep the lasers turned off.
If anyone can figure out how to do it, there's a... lollipop in it for you!
