i need advice on how to make a rpg game

like it says in the title i need advice/help on making a rpg game ...im using rpgmaker2003 ( i mainly just need advice on making
since i am new to making a rpg game

"please dont make fun of me or flame me for wanting advice or even help on making some of these things, i've already tried to make maps and events, but sadly i'm no good at that"

maps - i need help figuringout what the different maps will look like
world maps
dungeons
ships
towns
castles
inside(buildings like item shops..weapon shops or homes of other people)
caves
mountains
shipyards
graveyards

events

(i would love to use the magic called regen in the game but i can't figureout how to set it up to work right)
when it comes to magic the only thing i need to know is how to set the damage they do or the damage they heal...i know this makes me look dumb, but the only reason i brought this up was because i dont want them to be too strong or too weak)

i also need an idea of the amount of hours for gameplay

and finally i need help on finding tile sets that i can use for towns, dungeons whatever...

i only need help with this stuff, the rest like making the characters, attacks, weapons, armour, and items i know how to

(to the ones who left posts in the thread about a game called bahamut: prince of dragons...i thought it was better that i give up on the idea til i can come up with a better plot)

Maxy thanks for the help, that saves me the trouble for finding most the stuff i was looking for

Create the characters, who will bring the story to life, and the story will fall into place as you design the characters. Then begin your development.

As long as new members remain polite, final_fantasy_fan, flaming is not tolerated. Everyone has to start somewhere and we appreciate that people need help at all levels.

However, it would appear that you don't want to dive in at the deep end. What you have asked for is someone to explain the whole game development process to you. I'll meet you half way and give you links to tutorials instead.

http://gamingw.net/tutorials/212 - this one starts well but doesn't maintain the effort in later sections. It's an introduction to RPG Maker.
http://gamingw.net/tutorials/121 - one on map making. It's often a terrible idea to use tutorials for mapping as they're rarely any good - it's something you'd be best practicing at, looking at some of the best maps around and trying to emulate the style.
http://gamingw.net/tutorials/88 - a regen spell.

There are many tutorials on gaming world to get you started, although I cannot guarantee the quality of all of them.

If you're looking to see what other people's maps look like, take a look here:

or

That should give you a flavour of what people do with their maps.

For tilesets, we have plenty at the Palace, [url=http://rpg-palace.com/downloads/files.php?cat=9&cmd=all&sort=name&order=asc&page=1]http://rpg-palace.com/downloads/files.php?...rder=asc&page=1
and we have a collection of links here:

but other sites have many too,

Take your pick!
